Studio Portraits
A gospel moment
The Experience
Norm Eder is an absolute pleasure to work with in his studio. He brings the perfect combination of art, creativity and professionalism to his work, creating easy environment of freedom, positivity and professionalism.
Working with him was absolute joy filled experience.
Listening to WWOZ, talking about history, jazz, blues, photography and sipping tea.
My kind of hang.

When not shooting live shows, Norm can be found working in his Becker Canyon Studio, creating images of artists—particularly musicians active in and around the Portland scene. He works in both color and native digital black and white.
In 2020, Norm volunteered to support the JEREMY WILSON FOUNDATION by creating an ongoing series of artist portraits (thejwf.org).
Over 375 artists have been photographed, with the images used by the foundation to promote its mission and by the artists to promote themselves. In 2024, Oregon Music News published a profile on Norm and his work for JWF (read it here).
The JWF project continues with Norm’s free-to-the-artist sessions, where he invites local professional musicians and other artists to join him for a photo session in his studio.
